The ELA M 251E sits in line with Telefunken’s history of quality professional microphones and its lineage can be traced back to the original Neumann U-47 microphone produced in 1947 (distributed by Telefunken).
The ELA M 251E with the 6072 tube has the ability to capture unparalleled warm rich and detailed sound as found in countless recordings. The capsule houses the famous CK12 1.0″ dual sided gold sputtered diaphragm and the switchable cardioid omnidirectional and figure 8 polar patterns are accessible on the microphone itself. A dedicated power supply cable wooden storage box and flight case are all included.
The TELEFUNKEN ELA M 251E includes an edge terminated dual backplate CK12 capsule capable of cardioid omnidirectional and bidirectional polar patterns a 6072A vacuum tube and a Haufe T14/1 output transformer (the same found in the AKG Acoustics GmbH C12). Modern component choices allow for tighter tolerance specifications better current handling and a lower self-noise than their vintage counterpart. Each reissue is 100% true in every detail to the original (the parts are interchangeable with the 50 year old originals) and will deliver the same sonically opulent response that made the ELA M 251E one of the world’s most sought after recording tools.
